Success Stories

Working with Excel Cricket Coaching over the past 2 years has helped me achieve two very important goals in my cricketing life, first being selected for the North of England side and second being contracted to the Durham Academy.

Excel helped me regain my confidence during the winter with both my batting and my bowling. This resulted in me making major contributions with both bat and ball for the Cumbria u17s that won the county 2 day competition. Those performances have led on to me playing some representative cricket for Cumberland CCC development squad, Durham Academy and currently Lancashire u19s.

Excel Cricket Coaching helped me back up to speed after an ankle operation. The bowling program helped a lot, developing a different slower ball and also working at setting up my batting. The focus was towards T20 Cricket and I can honestly say the help I received contributed to me achieving my goal of getting selected for the England Deaf World T20 Squad. The world cup was in Dubia and I managed to play in all five games. This was a first for me, playing on tour without getting injured. We reached the final and only lost by 2 wickets with 8 balls to go! One of the most amazing experiences of my life.

I Have worked with Jonathan at Excel for the past 2 years & have noticed a massive difference. Completely breaking down my bowling action & even though that made me feel so un coordinated,i trusted  he knew what he's doing, through the feedback he gave me during the process.
I can now see my bowling action coming together & it feels amazing!
So glad i took a leap of faith & spent time working with him

Ive been helped by Jonathan .since i was 13 years of age.During that process he has helped me believe in myself & improved my game both technically & physically especially in the pace bowling department.
This journey took me from simply playing cricket as an extra sport, to representing Lancashire & the KSL Thunder squad, as well as attending the England Women's Pace bowling program. If Jonathan hadn’t encouraged me to harness my talent, these wonderful opportunities may not have arisen.

My son has enjoyed all the Excel sessions this winter, the coaches have taken him back to basics, undoing bad habits he had picked up, which has seen both his batting & bowling improve no end, this has in turn improved his confidence.
As a parent it has been fascinating watching this transformation, his development over the last 6 months.has been awesome, the body conditioning, sports science, mobility screening & the chance to work with experienced coaches has had him engrossed, hes got so much from every session & cant wait for the season to start having now got selected for the county for the first time!
